Route

July 31st to Aug 1st Tbilisi

After an overnight bush camp just outside Tbilisi we arrived in the city early in the morning and waited until our dorms were ready.
Eamon was already at Tbilisi and joined the group at the hostel.  Later he reported that his camera was missing from the previous day, so that was a security wake up call for all of us.  We are now a complete group until Laos when 3 will be leaving (2 temporarily).

I am in a 6 bedded dorm (with Johnie and 4 girls).  All the girls have gone out this evening (July 31st) on a girlie night so have spent some time getting ready!!

On the Sunday I walked from the hostel (just by Tavisupleba Square) to Vere Park where kids were playing in a big play fountain area.

Then I came back along the Chugureti Bridge where there was a pavement car boot sale in progress.

Note the fashion shoes spotted outside McDonalds!

On Monday found a hair salon and got my hair and beard trimmed, sorted out the laundry which was returned in the afternoon, then went to the disappointing Botanic Gardens (very few flowers, but a good waterfall).

Some of the girls spent the morning recovering from the night before, so we had to tread carefully.

Walked over the impressive new Bridge of Peace.   (see photo album for more images)

Police were at the hostel when we returned as they were investigating the disappearing camera of Eamon and also a fight in another group in the hostel who were being evicted - life is not dull on the road.

Returned to the Bridge of Peace in the evening and it was a hive of activity.

When I got back to the hostel it was in darkness - no electricity - was it a coincidence that the air conditioning units were serviced that afternoon?
