Will drove us to the historical Ephesus site thus morning arriving at 8:30. Already a number of coaches were in place and by the time we had negotiated for a guide and all got our entrance tickets the site was very very busy. Thick crowds all the way up from the lower city to the upper city and the same (if not worse) on the way back down again. Obviously it is a popular excursion for cruising ships. I think I was spoiled by visiting Petra and Jerash in Jordan in February.
We left the historic site at 10:00 and spent the rest of the morning at Ephesus town, then back to the campsite.
Saw these storks nesting at several places in Ephesus.
Walked along the beach in the afternoon and saw these 2 boats being built. Very hot this afternoon - quite a few Turkish people on the beach, but not too crowded.
Apparently this is the last beach stop before we get to SE Asia and that is months away, so we are making the most of it. The water is really lovely the water is just like a warm bath.
We are catching up on our washing (yes that includes me - not too much so far) as it dries really quickly in this weather.
Tomorrow we move inland for a bush camp before we get to Gerome for 3 nights where some of us have booked for a hot air balloon flight over the unique volcanic landscape. Look out for the photos.
