On to Gallipoli - Still in Europe (just) - and gatecrashing a wedding.

Today we left Istanbul at 09:00 going west towards the Dardanelles.  Stopped at Tesco Kipa Kitle for a lunch stop (after all we havn't been to a Tesco for a few days).

Continued to the Anzac cove area where we had a tour of the First World War sites and memorials. (Australian and New Zealand)

We then ended up in a beach bar/cafe at Ecebat where we could either put up the tents (in a strong wind) or opt to sleep on the bar/cafe floor.  Guess what -  most of opted for mattresses and a sleeping bag on the bar floor!!


  






Tomorrow we are going across the Dardanelles Straight on a ferry and then we really will be in Asia. Long drive to Ephesus tomorrow via Troy.

Later in the evening Lily and I walked along the seafront to the village and saw a WW1 exhibition and then gatecrashed some wedding celebrations (see wedding cake picture).  All very exciting.
