Walked to Asia (Instanbul Day 2)

Walked to Hagia Sophia in the morning after breakfast (another amazing building).  Currently a Museum, formerly an Imperial Mosque (1453–1931) and Roman Catholic Cathedral (1204–1261); originally constructed as an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral (562–1204, 1261–1453).

Then back to the hostel (see picture) and 11 of us then went to an old Turkish Bath using another fast Turkish taxi (London taxis are tame).  Sauna, pummeling, stretching, complete wash and dousing.  Felt much better at the end and we all walked back to the hostel for lunch time.

This afternoon I walked to Asia over one of the Bosphorus bridges.  Very busy around the ferry boats - definitely east meets west - restaurants lined the bridge beneath the road deck.

Tomorrow we move towards Gallipoli (leaving Istanbul at 09:00) for a bush camp before a couple of nights at a camp site (at least I think that is the plan), so it may be a couple of days until the next blog.
