Lhasa (part 2)

Saturday 17th September

After a cooked breakfast at a local Tibet/Dutch Restaurant I walked to the Tsepala and Ramoche Monasteries. The street was packed with stalls and small shops of every description. Both Monasteries had stoves outside for burning offerings – the Ramoche Monastery was by far the larger and had prayer drums all around the outside. I then walked back to the hotel (Tibet Kailash Hotel) passing a number of good quality shops and department stores.

In the afternoon I walked all around the Barkhor Perambulating Way which circles the Jokhang Temple (you should walk in a clockwise direction if you are a follower, but of course I didn’t).

After Supper I saw a sheep being escorted along the main road! and I took a few shots of the Potala Palace at night.
